Verity’s relationship with fashion began as soon as she could dress herself and go to war with her mother over it. Removing sleeves, wearing underwear as overwear (or simply refusing it completely), trousers inside out, back to front and all manner of odd creations were perfectly natural to her. The New Zealand countryside was perhaps an odd setting for this unusually dressed child, clearly a future involved in fashion was inevitable.
Verity didn't last long at school, too busy smoking, breakdancing, hanging out with boys and cutting hair in the loo at lunchtime........... still........
Beginning her hairdressing apprenticeship at the age of 15 meant that by 19 years old Verity was qualified, won Hairdresser of the Year in Wellington and could move to the UK to study make-up and fulfill her dreams of working in the session world. Verity lived in London for 17 years and during that time had the good fortune to work with many great names in music, advertising, fashion and film. Verity now resides in Sydney, Australia and is Creative Director at Stevie English Hair in Glebe and a freelance Hair and Make-up Artist.
Still obsessed with fashion and all manner of 'dressing up' after almost 40 years suggests Verity’s passion is unlikely to die and is probably the driving force in her life.
